Job summary

FedEx is seeking a seasonal sort term role responsible for the dispatch of transportation equipment in line with the Linehaul plan to maximize trailer capacity and ensure on-time service for our Charlotte, NC location. The role directs dispatch activities, logs events in the TMS, verifies equipment locations, and coordinates with Safety and Maintenance to monitor inspections and DOT compliance.

No experience is required, but dispatch experience is preferred; work five days a week at a FedEx

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required but dispatch experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the dispatch of transportation equipment in accordance with the Linehaul plan.
• Ensure Linehaul dispatch and arrival rules are followed according to company procedures.
• Coordinate cargo shipments to maximize trailer volume while meeting delivery obligations.
• Enter dispatch events into the TMS to ensure on-time delivery and pickup of trailers.
• Verify the location of equipment in the dispatch system with yard inventories.
• Verify load/unload status of trailers with yard checks and report missing equipment.
• Follow safety initiatives to maintain a safety-conscious culture.
• Investigate schedule delays, accidents, and equipment failures and implement contingency plans for on-time load delivery.
• Review DOT roadside violations with management.
• Coordinate with Safety and Maintenance to monitor tractor inspections and ensure annual certificates.
• Review TLCRs to ensure proper completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
