Job summary

Alaska House of Representatives seeks floor staff for the first session of the 35th Alaska State Legislature. These full-time, seasonal roles run January to mid-May with potential for special sessions.

Staff provide non-partisan support to legislators and the public, working closely with all staff sections in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment. Starting salary is set; full-time employees receive medical, retirement, and leave benefits.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold an Alaska driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Chamber and committee rooms for sessions and hearings.
• Supervise access to the Chamber and galleries.
• Distribute documents including notes, letters, packages, or agency communications.
• Maintain Chamber materials such as bill files, journals, amendments, and other documents.
• Guide building tours.
• Operate legislative vehicles as requested.
