Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, CT is seeking seasonal, non-union actor/interpreters for Lantern Lights Holiday productions. Performers will portray characters in period costume circa 1876 and deliver scripted plays, solo readings, and educational talks.

Rehearsals begin in October with auditions the week of September 21. Shows run Thu–Sun Dec 3–20 and 12/21–23; call times may start around 1:00 PM and the day ends around 8:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Previous acting/public speaking experience.
• Willing to work weekends and evenings throughout October, November, and December.
• Willing to work outdoors and in all weather conditions, including rain, wind, snow and cold.
• Knowledge of historical reenactment a plus.
• Experience with improvisation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform Lantern Lights Holiday productions in Mystic, CT, alternating between scripted plays and readings.
• Deliver scripted interpretive/educational talks in 19th‑century costume circa 1876.
• Adhere to show schedules: Thu–Sun Dec 3–20, plus 12/21–23; rehearsal starts in October.
• Auditions are the week of September 21; work evenings and weekends as required.
