Job summary

OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Landscape Maintenance Worker for a temporary seasonal role. The position supports lawn and plant care, irrigation tasks, and equipment operation across the fairgrounds.

The role requires 5-day work weeks with full-time hours; wage is $20.00–$22.00 per hour. This on-site role includes operations during events and varying shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous landscape experience, knowledge of landscape equipment care and maintenance.
• Experience with general plant care.
• Ability to safely operate a variety of landscape tools and machinery.
• Good customer service skills and the ability to work well with others a must. Ability to work outside the normal business day/week schedule as demanded by events and programs.
• Must be available to work 5 days per week, on any shift.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintenance activities of fairground’s landscape.
• Provides assistance to landscape staff with needed repairs when assigned.
• Performs mowing, weeding, pruning, and general plant care across the grounds.
• Handles turf repair, watering, seeding, edging, and mowing.
• Assists with debris removal from planters, lawns, shrubs, and walkways.
• Assists in irrigation repair, tree planting, fertilizing, and tool maintenance.
• Operates landscape machinery such as ride-on mower, push mower, string trimmer and leaf blower.
• May participate in janitorial duties as needed and loads/unloads supplies.
