Job summary

OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, CA seeks a Mechanic Assistant for a temporary seasonal role. You will assist with maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and building services, working full-time hours during the OC Fair period.

Ideal candidates have an apprenticeship in a mechanical trade and several years of related experience, with a valid California driver’s license and strong safety practices.

Qualifications

• Four years of varied experience in the Mechanical Trades which must have included experience with electrical, plumbing, heating, water and power systems; and repairing mechanical and automotive equipment.
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a mechanical trade.
• Possess a valid California driver’s license.
• Must be available to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, maintains, and repairs plumbing, heating, water, and sewer systems.
• Does electrical maintenance and repair work; and repairs equipment.
• Does miscellaneous interior and exterior painting; and refinishes furniture.
• Keeps tools and equipment in good condition; keeps records and prepares reports.
• Repairs and maintains small and heavy equipment ( forklifts, electric carts, etc.).
• Assists with locating and organizing materials and supplies.
