Position Overview

Seasonal Role for Hardscape Department! We are looking for a motivated Sales Associate with heavy equipment operation experience to join our Hardscapes team. This role combines customer service, product knowledge, equipment operation, and delivery logistics. You will assist customers with material selection and education, operate machinery safely, support deliveries, and help maintain our grounds and event spaces.

• This is a seasonal onsite position at Colonial Gardens in Blue Springs.
• Hourly Rate: $18.00-$20.00

Colonial Gardens, located in Blue Springs, MO, has been part of our brand since 2016. Established in 1969, it was renovated in 2017 into an agritourism destination offering a greenhouse, nursery, café, event space, and farmer’s market. We promote local agriculture and sustainability through educational classes and private events.

Colonial Farms offers an immersive farm experience with livestock, orchards, u-pick berries, vegetables, and festivals, connecting soil to home and fostering education for future generations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Sales

• Assist customers with hardscapes product selection, layout planning, and purchases.
• Educate customers on materials, equipment use, and project best practices.
• Represent company values in customer interactions.

Equipment Operation & Material Handling

• Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, skid steers, and loaders.
• Follow safety protocols and report mechanical issues.

Delivery Operations

• Deliver bulk materials and goods safely and efficiently.
• Secure loads and communicate with customers during deliveries.

Grounds, Maintenance & Events Support

• Assist with groundskeeping, repairs, and event setups.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the grounds.

Merchandising & Inventory Management

• Organize and stock displays.
• Participate in inventory counts and merchandising.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 2 years of sales experience in landscaping, construction, or related fields.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts or skid steers.
• Valid driver’s license for delivery vehicle operation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS/inventory systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred: Valid Class E license, Forklift Certification, Loader Operator Certification.
