POSITION INFORMATION:

LABORER I

Lowell Heritage State Park

Duration: 05/11/25-10/13/25 (22 weeks) @ 40 hrs: 7:00AM-3:30PM SUN-THUR, 1 position(s)

The Department of Conservation and Recreation manages one of the largest and most diverse state parks systems in the nation and protects and enhances natural resources and outdoor recreational opportunities throughout Massachusetts. DCR is a dynamic agency and is one of the largest park systems in the nation, including over 450,000 acres of parks, forests, water supply protection lands, beaches, lakes, ponds, playgrounds, swimming pools, skating rinks, trails, and parkways.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks qualified applicants for the positions of seasonal Laborer I.

Duties:
  1. Perform and assist with a variety of duties in connection with conservation and maintenance work including grounds and facility maintenance work such as cutting grass, raking leaves, watering, painting, rubbish removal, and beautification of parks, campgrounds, and reservations.
  2. May be expected to use a variety of hand tools.
  3. May operate motor vehicles and light trucks including loading and unloading of supplies and equipment.
  4. Greet and assist park visitors and provide information about the facility.
  5. Based on assignment, collect fees and may be required to possess a current and valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
  6. Perform other related duties as required.

Salaries are based upon full-time/40 hours worked per week. Work schedules and days off are at the discretion of the Supervisor. This position may require working weekends and/or holidays.
