Seasonal Laborer I
Lake Dennison Recreation Area/Otter River SF

Duration: 5/4/25-10/13/25 (23 Weeks) @40 hrs/week

Work Schedule: Primarily night shifts during the camping season, including split shifts; includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

About the Department of Conservation and Recreation

The Department of Conservation and Recreation manages one of the largest and most diverse state park systems in the nation, protecting natural resources and providing outdoor recreational opportunities across Massachusetts. The system includes over 450,000 acres of parks, forests, water supply protection lands, beaches, lakes, ponds, playgrounds, swimming pools, skating rinks, trails, and parkways.

Position Overview

We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Seasonal Laborer I. A resume must be submitted as part of the application, specifically attached "as relevant" to the requisition for which you are applying.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with conservation and maintenance tasks, including groundskeeping, facility maintenance, painting, rubbish removal, and beautification projects.
  • Use a variety of hand tools as required.
  • Operate motor vehicles and light trucks, including loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
  • Greet and assist park visitors, providing information about the facility.
  • Collect fees as assigned; a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License may be required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Conditions and Compensation

Salaries are based on a 40-hour workweek. Work schedules and days off are at the discretion of the supervisor. The position may require working on weekends and holidays.
