The City of Rochester Hills is looking for a Cemetery Grounds MaintenanceWorker to support the Cemetery Division in maintaining grounds, assisting with funeral preparations, headstone installations, and marker systems. Work may be day shifts with occasional evenings or weekends to serve residents and patrons.
Responsibilities include lawn care, pruning, equipment upkeep, snow removal in season, and light office tasks such as auditing cemetery records and delivering mail to City Hall.
An employee in this classification is responsible for routine maintenance duties related to the cemeteries. Employees employed within the Cemetery Division of the Clerk’s Department will be assigned to work in teams or independently throughout the City’s Cemeteries. Work is generally performed on day shifts (7:30am-4:00pm) but may occasionally include evenings, weekends. Employees in this position are integral to maintaining the beautiful grounds of the City of Rochester Hills while providing a positive experience for Rochester Hills residents and other patrons of the Cemeteries.
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 70 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
