Job summary

ALS is seeking a Seasonal Laboratory Assistant to support testing operations across assigned sections. The role requires adherence to safety, QA/QC, and regulatory requirements while supporting daily workflows and meeting prioritised daily needs.

The position provides exposure to multiple lab areas and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Physical demands include lifting up to 30 lbs and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred or some laboratory experience
• Knowledge of good laboratory practice is expected
• Comfortable working in a high-paced production environment

Responsibilities

• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and directions regarding workplace standards
• Follow safety requirements and report safety concerns to the Safety Representative
• Observe safety regulations and ALS policies
• Follow SOPs without deviation unless approved by supervisor
• Adhere to QA/QC requirements
• Use correct methods per established procedures and schedules
• Prepare and standardize reagents and solutions
• Prepare calibration and quality control standards, duplicate and spike samples
• Clean glassware and containers used for sample preparation and analysis
• Evaluate data and troubleshoot with instruments and sample prep processes
• Perform instrument calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Organize workload to meet Turn Around Times and hold times
• Create work lists and other computer tasks
• Complete paperwork to track tests and validity
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Store and dispose of samples properly
• Other duties as assigned
