Job summary

Waypoint Analytical in Champaign, IL, seeks a detail-oriented Lab Technician to support soil testing and instrumentation. You will prepare samples, run analyses, document results, and help manage inventory while maintaining safety and accuracy.

Day shift work (approximately 8 am–6 pm) is expected; 1–3 years in an environmental lab is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required and Waypoint Analytical is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in an environmental laboratory preferred.
• Willingness and ability to work day shift (approx. 8 am-6 pm).

Responsibilities

• Prepare soil samples for a wide variety of testing procedures following SOPs.
• Operate and maintain scientific equipment/instrumentation.
• Document activities and report results accurately and concisely.
• Assist in ordering and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and work areas.
• Model core value of safety by contributing to a safe work environment.
• Other duties as required.
