Seasonal Kitchen Assistant (Sur La Table)

The Seasonal Kitchen Assistant contributes to the success of a Sur La Table store by inspiring customers on their culinary journey. This role blends a passion for cooking and entertaining to support the Resident Chef in driving business results. The Seasonal Kitchen Assistant reports to the Resident Chef.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service to create a memorable experience
• Assist with food prep and class setup; may help with shopping for ingredients
• Wash dishes and clean the kitchen before, during, and after classes
• Support the instructor during classes and look for opportunities to assist
• Contribute to store goals through product knowledge and sales
• Handle alcohol, if applicable
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift and move merchandise or kitchen equipment up to 35lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Proficiency with chopping, whisking, slicing, stirring, and kitchen equipment
• Flexible schedule, including daytime, nights, and weekends
• Valid Food Handlers and/or Food Manager Certification
• Preferred: 1 year of retail sales, food prep, or kitchen operations experience
• Must be at least 16 years old
