Job summary

Valley County in Idaho is seeking Seasonal Weed & Pest Control Technicians to help identify and eradicate noxious weeds and pests using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles. You will work outdoors during spring, summer, and fall and drive county trucks, ATVs, and UTVs.

Training will cover safe chemical handling, mixing, disposal, equipment maintenance, and operating field vehicles. Positions last up to 8 months and do not include employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to operate motor vehicles, ATVs/UTVs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather.
• Ability to obtain Professional Applicator's License within 2 months.

Responsibilities

• Drive county roads to identify noxious weeds and invasive plants; mix chemicals in correct proportions.
• Prepare spray equipment, apply environmentally safe herbicides and pesticides.
• Set mosquito traps and maintain work logs and safety documentation.
