Job summary

Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking outstanding engineering students for a summer internship in our Structural Engineering Group at the Larkspur, CA office. The role focuses on new building design and may include BIM, research, and renovation work.

Interns will complete engineering tasks, assist with presentations, and gain experience in a collaborative office setting. Eligibility requires progressing toward a listed degree and U.S. work authorization.

Qualifications

Martin/Martin, Inc. is searching for outstanding engineering students to join our Structural Engineering Group as summer interns at our Larkspur, CA office. This opportunity will focus mainly on new building structural design, but interns may also have the chance to gain experience in technical research, renovation of existing buildings, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).

The Team

Our structural engineering teams provide custom solutions for new constructions and expansions both in California and nationally, with a strong record in notable projects like Coors Field, the SLAC Science and User Support Building, the California State Legislative Office Building, and Topgolf.

Responsibilities

Requirements

Required

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in Civil, Architectural, or Structural Engineering, having completed at least a junior-level program
• High school diploma
• Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to commute and attend programming in the work location where the Internship is based (Larkspur, CA)
• Ability to work in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook
• Attention to detail
• Eager to learn
• Ability to work independently and ask questions as needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired

• Structural engineering-specific experience

Working Conditions, Skills And Abilities

This position is technical in nature, working mostly inside of the office completing a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:

• Completing repetitive movement on tasks such as using a mouse or keyboard
• Remain stationary for long periods of time
• Read, communicate, and document in English
• Identify color
• Determine and exchange accurate information
• Occasionally move about outside of the office
• Occasionally move or hold objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Compensation

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organisational needs.

• Base Salary: For individuals hired in California, a reasonable estimate of the current hourly range for this role is $30 - $32 per hour.
