Job summary

Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking outstanding engineering students to join our Structural Engineering Group as summer interns at our Kansas City, MO office.

This internship focuses on new building structural design while offering exposure to technical research, renovation of existing buildings, and Building Information Modeling (BIM). During a typical week, interns work on engineering calculations, develop drawings, visit sites, run BIM workflows, and support internal projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, with junior standing
• High school diploma
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future
• Ability to commute to Kansas City, MO for internship
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

The Team

Our structural engineering teams provide custom solutions for new constructions and expansions both in Kansas City and nationally, with a strong record in notable projects like Coors Field, the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, and Harborcenter.

Requirements

Required

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in Civil or Architectural Engineering, having completed at least a junior-level program
• High school diploma
• Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to commute and attend programming in the work location where the Internship is based (Kansas City, MO)
• Ability to work in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook
• Attention to detail
• Eager to learn
• Ability to work independently and ask questions as needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired

• Structural engineering-specific experience

Working Conditions, Skills And Abilities

This position is technical in nature, working mostly inside of the office completing a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:

• Completing repetitive movement on tasks such as using a mouse or keyboard
• Remain stationary for long periods of time

• Determine and exchange accurate informationOccasionally move about outside of the office
