The Philadelphia Zoo is seeking a full-time, temporary position responsible for installing lighting and audio effects for seasonal programs. This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and involves physical tasks such as lifting and using hand tools. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and be comfortable working around animals.
Under the supervision of the Manager Seasonal Programs, this position installs lighting and audio effects and scenic elements for the Zoo’s Seasonal Programs. Working outside in all weather conditions, this position will be a part of delivering the amazing experiences the Philadelphia Zoo is known for.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Install lighting and audio effects
· Install scenic elements
· May be asked to install/execute based on an artistic rendering
· Will work in summer, fall, and winter conditions
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITY REQUIRED:
· Ability to work at heights up to 60’
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Basic knowledge of hand tools
· Comfortable working around animals
· Must be able to train on and safely use heavy equipment
· Experience with lighting and sound equipment a plus
· Ability to execute from an artistic rendering a plus
· Ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner
· Must possess a valid state driver’s license
PHYSICAL, MEDICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
· Successful completion of post-offer tuberculosis and drug screen prior to beginning work
· Successful completion of a post-offer criminal background check prior to starting work including, but not limited to FBI fingerprinting and Child Abuse History Clearance.
Must be vaccinated and have booster as well
