Job summary

Chesterfield Hockey Association Inc. is seeking a seasonal, part-time rink attendant to manage the facility. You will work largely solo, ensuring a clean, safe environment and delivering a great hockey experience.

The role includes training in ice resurfacing, scoreboard operation, skate sharpening, and cash handling. You must be reliable, customer-focused, and able to work nights and weekends during the hockey season.

Qualifications

• Teamwork and reliability in a rink environment.
• Willingness to learn ice resurfacing and edging basics.
• Ability to supervise rink attendants when needed.
• Strong problem solving with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude under potentially stressful conditions.
• Clear communication and safety awareness.
• Good grasp of instructions and daily reporting.
• Capable of lifting and moving heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Keep all areas neat, clean and safe at all times.
• Ensure entrances are clear of debris and snow.
• Provide excellent customer service to patrons.
• Handle all phone inquiries politely.
• Sharpen skates; full training provided.
• Sell rink-related items (tape, laces, etc.).
• Process cash receipts and complete reports.
• Operate the scoreboard with training provided.
• Open/close the facility per security procedures.
• Be available to work nights and weekends.
