Job summary

Pineland Farms Inc. is seeking an Ice Maintenance Worker Seasonal to maintain ice surfaces and keep the rink area clean and safe. The role operates ice resurfacing equipment and supports events at the Piscataquis County Ice Arena in Dover-Foxcroft.

The position requires reliability, willingness to work evenings and weekends, and the ability to follow safety policies. Training will be provided for operating the Zamboni and related machinery.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to ice quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Refrigeration plant knowledge is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain ice resurfacing equipment (e.g., Zamboni) to ensure smooth and safe ice conditions.
• Monitor ice thickness and quality, adjusting as necessary.
• Perform regular edging, shaving, and flooding to maintain proper ice conditions.
• Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance of ice resurfacing machines, dasher boards, nets, and rink equipment.
• Assist with refrigeration plant monitoring, including temperature checks and reporting issues.
• Perform snow removal and ensure rink areas are safe and accessible.
• Assist in setup and teardown for hockey games, figure skating events, and public skating sessions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and facility policies.
• Provide support to facility management with additional maintenance tasks as needed.
• Keep rink area clean, including lobby, upstairs, rental areas, and locker rooms.
