Job summary

The Sports Facilities Advisory & Management is seeking an Ice Resurfacer Operator for the Winter Village at Bryant Park in New York City. The role supports ice surface prep before and after events, practices, and recreational sessions at an outdoor rink environment.

Responsibilities include ice setup, safety compliance around machinery, and routine maintenance of resurfacer and edger, with daily maintenance recordings. Must be ready for irregular shifts and cold weather.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to test for Fire Guard Certification.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of ice maintenance and resurfacing procedures.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Certified Ice Technician (CIT) preferred.
• Must be able to work irregular shifts, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ice setup and takedown for events.
• Ensure safety standards while operating machinery near athletes and spectators.
• Maintain ice resurfacer and edger daily, weekly, monthly, and annually.
• Monitor ice quality during events and adjust as needed.
• Collaborate with the ice operations team for efficient use of time and resources.
• Maintain clean ice rink area, free from hazards.
• Record ice and equipment maintenance readings daily.
• Complete special projects and daily assignments as directed by management.
• Respond to incidents and file necessary paperwork.
• Assist other departments as necessary.
