Job summary

Sports Facilities Management, LLC is seeking an Ice Operations Supervisor for the Davis Center at the Harlem Meer in New York City. The seasonal, non-exempt role oversees daily ice arena operations, staff coordination, and ice maintenance to ensure safe, high-quality experiences for skaters and events.

You'll manage setup, teardown, scheduling, and equipment maintenance, while enforcing safety standards and delivering excellent guest service in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with a wide variety of ages from preschool through adult.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Able to stay calm and focused in a high-volume environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Certified Ice Technician (CIT) preferred.
• Willing to test for Fire Guard Certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the ice arena and coordinate events.
• Maintain ice quality and surface, including resurfacing and inspections.
• Manage ice resurfacer and edger maintenance on schedule.
• Supervise staff and ensure safety compliance during events.
• Record maintenance logs and daily readings accurately.
• Act as manager-on-duty for opening/closing as scheduled.
• Assist with setup/teardown and inventory of supplies.
• Respond to guest concerns and escalate to management when needed.
