Job summary

American Girl NYC, a Mattel subsidiary, is seeking a seasonal part-time Host to greet guests, seat diners and manage reservations at the Rockefeller Plaza location. You will coordinate with the restaurant team to deliver a welcoming dining experience and maximize seating efficiency.

Ideal candidates have prior hosting or concierge experience, familiarity with reservation and POS systems, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience as a restaurant host or related customer service role.
• Proficient with reservation and POS systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests promptly and seats them by maintaining waitlists and maximizing seating capacity.
• Manages large crowds professionally and resolves service situations diplomatically.
• Maintains a pleasant dining ambience via lighting, music, and table placement.
• Communicates setup and special requests to the restaurant team and informs guests of events.
• Shares information on store and restaurant events with guests.
• Uses Zomato and InfoGenesis, plus Microsoft Office to perform tasks.
• Supports training opportunities for restaurant staff.
