Job summary

DelDOT in Dover, Delaware, seeks a year-round casual seasonal part-time Interpretive Programs Assistant to deliver high-quality guest experiences by conducting interpretive programs and assisting with specialized First-Person programs, under the supervision of the Interpretive Programs Manager.

Qualifications

• Six months experience working with children and young adults.
• Experience with care and handling of animals.
• Knowledge of natural, cultural, historical resources or parks.
• Knowledge of public speaking or interpretation.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Lead school and public educational programs tied to State standards.
• Develop and maintain exhibits, educational and historical site material.
• Provide general customer service and park information to visitors.
• Plan, organize and conduct interpretive walks, programs and tours.
• Perform custodial services in historic sites and offices.
• Set-up, monitor and provide support for park programs and special events.
• Must demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.
