Job summary

Wayne County Public Schools at Spring Creek Middle seeks a Non-Faculty Coach to support the athletics program. Reports to Athletic Director/Principal and requires a High School Diploma or GED.

The role assists with practices, motivates student athletes, and teaches game strategies and techniques. Responsibilities include directing practices, evaluating player skills, aiding in game strategy, supervising athletes, and maintaining equipment and records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some experience as wrestling coach at the high school or college level preferred.
• Ability to sit/stand for extended periods; lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in the rules, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Organize and direct practice activities as directed by the head coach.
• Assess players' skills, monitor during competition and practice, and report on performance.
• Assist with determining game strategy and supervising athletes during practices and games.
• Distribute equipment, supplies, and uniforms; maintain the equipment room.
• Model nondiscriminatory practices and professional conduct.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Wrestling coaching experience (HS/college preferred)
