Job summary

Wayne County Public Schools is seeking a Non-Faculty Coach to support the head coach by instructing players, organizing practice sessions, and motivating student athletes in game strategies and techniques.

The role involves supervising athletes, distributing equipment, and assisting with awards and season activities while modeling professional conduct and nondiscriminatory practices throughout the season.

Qualifications

• Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods; walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must have some knowledge of wrestling coaching and game strategy.
• Ability to establish working relationships with administrators, parents, and students.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in sport rules, equipment, and techniques.
• Organize and direct practice activities as directed by head coach.
• Assess players' skills and monitor performance during games and practices.
• Assist with determining game strategy.
• Supervise athletes during practices and competitions.
• Follow procedures for injuries and safety.
• Distribute equipment, supplies, and uniforms as directed.
• Participate in events (parents night, banquets, award nights, pep assemblies).
