East Valley Middle School in Spokane Valley, WA, seeks a Head Volleyball Coach for two seasonal positions starting 10/14/2026. This role reports to the Middle School Activities Coordinator and Building Principal and follows the WIAA season schedule.

The successful candidate will lead the volleyball program, teach fundamentals, manage practices, and maintain eligibility and records. Teaching duties are not included in this district posting.

Qualifications

• The coach must have strong communication, organizational, motivational, teaching, and coaching skills.
• Previous successful coaching experience at middle school level preferred.
• Experience playing volleyball is expected.
• High character and positive example for students.

Responsibilities

• Teach the fundamentals of volleyball.
• Maintain scholastic eligibility and required documentation.
• Schedule practices and coach players for competition.
• Build public relations with media, boosters, parents, officials, and community.
• Work with the activities coordinator and principal in hiring/retaining assistants.
• Ensure proper equipment and safety for players.
