Job summary

Mid-Pacific Institute seeks a Head Coach for Sideline Cheer in Hawaii. This contract, seasonal role runs through the Sideline Cheer season aligned with varsity basketball.

The coach develops student-athletes, plans practices, mentors staff, and collaborates with the Athletic Department to keep a competitive program. The position supervises staff and evaluates athletes, with return possibilities based on program needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Preferred: Proven experience as a successful and motivating head coach with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop student-athletes through safe and effective drills, skills, strategies, and lesson planning.
• Motivate and support student-athletes using positive reinforcement.
• Provide off-season training opportunities to improve individual and team performance.
• Supervise staff within the program and evaluate/develop athletes.
• Communicate vision of the Sideline Cheer program and share schedules with stakeholders.
• Recruit, train, and oversee coaches in the Sideline Cheer program in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
• Maintain safety, track attendance, monitor eligibility, and report injuries as needed.
