Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with receiving, moving, weighing, and documenting harvested plants and plant material.
  • Deleaf plants and prepare for curing.
  • Position plants in hang spaces per procedures.
  • Monitor cure conditions and report concerns.
  • Perform plant breakdown and material prep.
  • Operate bucking machines and conveyors after training.
  • Trim, inspect, and separate material for quality.
  • Package, label, and organize finished product per requirements.
  • Log, collect, and dispose of plant waste per SOPs.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas following PPE and safety procedures.
  • Support daily production goals and team collaboration.

Job description

Position Summary

The Seasonal Harvest Associate supports CULTA's outdoor harvest and post-harvest operations during peak harvest season. This entry-level role assists with plant movement, hanging, deleafing, weighing, breakdown, trimming, quality control, and packaging while following company SOPs and applicable cannabis regulations. The associate helps maintain accurate material accountability, product quality, and clean, safe, organized work areas throughout the harvest and curing process. No prior cannabis experience is required; role-specific training is provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with receiving, moving, weighing, and documenting harvested plants and plant material.
  • Deleaf plants to improve airflow and support an efficient, consistent curing process.
  • Place and orient plants within designated hang spaces according to cure-room procedures and production priorities.
  • Monitor cure conditions and promptly report environmental, quality, or workflow concerns to a supervisor.
  • Perform plant breakdown, bucking, branching, and other material-preparation tasks.
  • Safely operate bucking machines, conveyors, vacuum-seal machines, and other equipment after training and according to SOPs.
  • Trim and inspect material, identify quality concerns, and separate material as directed.
  • Package, label, and organize finished product accurately and according to production and compliance requirements.
  • Accurately log, collect, and dispose of plant waste according to company SOPs and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow PPE, sanitation, safety, security, and product-handling procedures.
  • Support daily production goals, work cooperatively with the team, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to satisfy required background and cannabis-agent registration requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, SOPs, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive work for extended shifts, including climbing ladders when required.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry 50 pounds or more, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, strong work ethic, and schedule flexibility, including early mornings, weekends, and overtime during peak harvest periods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous agriculture, cultivation, harvest, landscaping, warehouse, production, food manufacturing, or other physically demanding work experience is helpful.
  • Familiarity with post-harvest processing, trimming, packaging, or production equipment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to product quality.
Working Conditions
  • Seasonal, on-site position based in Cambridge, Maryland.
  • Work may take place outdoors or in large production areas with varying temperatures, weather, humidity, dust, plant material, strong odors, and loud noise.
  • The role requires extended standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, bending, reaching, ladder use, and frequent lifting and carrying of materials.
  • Work is performed around production machinery and moving equipment; required PPE and all safety procedures must be followed.
  • Schedules may vary with harvest needs and can include early mornings, weekends, holidays, overtime, or changes with limited notice.
