Must be available to work alternate shifts. Pass days are subject to change based on operational needs. Overtime and holiday work will be required based on operational needs. Position involves exposure to various weather conditions and will require overtime in response to these conditions. Duties include, but are not limited to: remove snow from Upstate parking garages, parking lots, sidewalks, stairs, and walkways with trucks, tractors, bobcats, loaders, walk-behind snow blower and shovels; mix salt and sand for use on walkways and roads; operate a truck-mounted salt spreader. May also perform routine manual activities and assist skilled and semi-skilled trades in the Labor Crew in various tasks. Must have the ability to use various hand/power tools and motorized equipment such as salt spreader, plow truck and tractor. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting; have the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, and follow oral and written instructions. Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.

Snow removal experience, ability to operate a New Holland Loader or Bobcat preferred.
