Qualifications

• Six months of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience in manual labor related to general construction or maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains public areas such as restrooms, campgrounds, parking lots, trails, beaches etc.
• Performs various manual labor tasks which may require some specialized skill.
• Installs, repairs and maintains signs by digging holes and installing supports with hand or handheld power tools.
• Plants, transplants, prunes, trims and fertilizes trees, flowers and shrubs; seeds lawns and gardens; sprays for insects and diseases; maintains grounds.
• Load and unloads trucks; inventories supplies and equipment; stores in stockrooms.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and tools by washing, inspecting, tightening, lubricating and sharpening edges.
• Repairs and paints guard rails; sets up traffic control devices; moves equipment and cleans areas as required.
• Operates handheld power tools and attaches mower blades, plow blades, leaf catchers to equipment as needed.
• Operates light vehicles and trucks in connection with unit activities.
• Operates camp registration offices and maintains simple records.
