Melwood Enterprises is seeking a Seasonal Groundsworker to support landscape contract work. You will operate standard mowers, trim edges, plant and water vegetation, and perform snow removal and salt spreading as part of routine site maintenance.

Hours are 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This role involves varying outdoor tasks and the use of multiple hand and power tools in a dynamic grounds environment.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in groundskeeping and lawn maintenance preferred.
• Ability to operate basic mowing and edging equipment safely.
• Basic pruning and landscape maintenance knowledge.

Aufgaben

• Cuts lawns with hand or power mower as directed.
• Trims and edges around walks and beds with clippers or edging tools.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape growth with shears.
• Rakes leaves and cleans up litter with broom or spiked stick.
• Shovels snow from walks and driveways as needed.
• Spreads salt on public walkways to prevent ice.
• Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
• Waters lawn and shrubs using hoses or irrigation systems.
• Clears drainage ditches and culverts with tools.
• Operates mowers, snow blowers, rototillers or riding mowers.
• Operates chain saws and hedge trimmers for pruning and maintenance.
• May operate tractors with attachments for mowing and spreading.
• Performs additional labor tasks when yard work is done.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: SEASONAL GROUNDSWORKER

INTRODUCTION

Under the supervision of the Grounds Foreman, performs those grounds tasks necessary to meet Landscape contract specifications.

The hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday, paid at $20.82 per hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• *1. Cuts lawns, using hand mower or power mower.
• *2. Trims and edges around walks, flower beds and walls, using clippers and edging tools.
• 3. Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears.
• *4. Rakes leaves and cleans or sweeps up litter using spiked stick or broom.
• 5. Shovels snow from walks and driveways.
• 6. Spreads salt on public passage ways.
• *7. Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubs.
• 8. Waters lawn and shrubs during dry periods using hose or by activating fixed or portable sprinkler system.
• *9. Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts, using shovel and rake.
• 10. May operate walking type power mowers, snow blowers, roto tillers or riding mowers.
• 11. May operate chain saws, hedge trimmers and other hand held power operated tools to prune, cultivate, shovel, trim, cut and dig.
• 12. May use tractor equipped with attachments, such as mowers, lime or fertilizer spreaders and lawn roller.
• 13. May perform a variety of laboring duties when yard work is completed.
• 14. Other duties as assigned.
