Job summary

Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital is seeking a Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Assistant to support camp facilities at Oakton, VA. The role reports to the Facilities Manager and focuses on upkeep, safety, and improvements of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Qualifications

• General maintenance knowledge including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, groundskeeping, and small engine repair.
• Ability to work independently with reliability and sound judgment.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with volunteers and visitors.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities for planning and prioritizing work.
• Familiarity with Girl Scout camping practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean camp environment and follow camp rules and procedures.
• Inspect property and complete repairs and security improvements.
• Maintain camp structures, grounds, vehicles, and tools with inventories.
• Keep camp appliances in safe operating condition.
