Job summary

FS GRAIN is seeking a hands-on elevator operator responsible for grain handling, safety, maintenance, and customer service at our Northern Illinois facilities. This role requires adapting to varying duties and strict safety standards while supporting efficient grain operations.

The position emphasizes teamwork, independent work, and willingness to learn grain handling processes, with a focus on equipment upkeep and safety compliance across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or experience in related agricultural field.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Understanding and willingness to learn grain handling.
• Understanding and experience with mechanical diagnosis, service, repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment.
• Preferred basic computer skills.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
• Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.

Responsibilities

• Handle grain including incoming, stored, and outgoing grain and maintain quality.
• Provide grain drying services and ensure proper blending.
• Perform housekeeping related to grain handling.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety regulations and maintain equipment appearance.
• Deliver professional customer service for a positive customer experience.
• Assist with maintaining company equipment and adhere to uniform policy.
