Job summary

FS GRAIN, a leading grain company in Northern Illinois, seeks a dedicated elevator operations assistant to manage grain handling, safety, maintenance, and customer service within our 19 facilities.

Under the Facility Manager, you will oversee inbound, storage and outbound grain, ensure quality, assist with drying and blending, comply with OSHA rules, and help maintain equipment and vehicles; willingness to work extended hours and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or related agricultural experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to learn grain handling and equipment maintenance.
• Experience with mechanical diagnosis, repairs and upkeep of equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel overnight.
• Ability to work extended hours and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming, stored, and outgoing grain; maintain quality and blending.
• Provide grain drying services and maintain equipment and facilities.
• Ensure OSHA safety compliance and professional appearance of equipment.
• Deliver professional customer service to ensure a pleasant experience.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
