Job summary

T&K Asphalt Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Grader Operator to join our Preparation Division.

This role focuses on operating grading equipment to establish and maintain grade, reading plans, and supporting paving and site development projects. Responsibilities include assisting with layout, grade checks, and project measurements, and coordinating with Project Managers and field personnel to ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of grading, excavation, or heavy construction experience preferred.
• Experience operating grading and earthmoving equipment in commercial construction environments.
• Ability to establish and maintain grade using grade stakes, lasers, GPS systems, or other grading methods.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
• Knowledge of excavation, grading, site preparation, and paving operations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Valid Massachusetts Driver's License (Class A/B/D) and DOT Medical Card.
• OSHA training required.
• Hoisting License 2A-1C preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate grading equipment (skid steers, excavators, loaders, rollers) safely.
• Establish and maintain proper grade for preparation crews and paving operations.
• Assist with layout, elevations, grade checking, and project measurements as directed.
• Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and project specs.
• Perform excavation and site preparation to project specs.
• Assist paving crews to ensure proper workflow and execution.
• Complete daily reports and equipment inspections on time.
