Job summary

Thornberry Creek at Oneida is seeking a Golf Course Equipment Operator to join the Grounds Crew for the 2026 season. This role operates and maintains golf course maintenance equipment to keep greens, fairways, and bunkers in top condition.

The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, has experience with turf care, and can work early mornings, weekends, and holidays. A valid driver’s license is required, and the position offers a competitive hourly wage and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating golf course maintenance equipment or similar machinery preferred.
• Understanding of golf course maintenance practices and turf management is a plus.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, aerators, and other specialized machinery.
• Perform daily course maintenance tasks such as mowing greens, fairways, and roughs; bunker raking; and debris cleanup.
• Assist with irrigation system operation and minor repairs as needed.
• Ensure all equipment is operated safely and maintained in proper working condition.
• Follow all course maintenance schedules and guidelines to uphold high-quality playing conditions.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions or course issues to the supervisor.
• Assist with seasonal tasks, including aeration, fertilization, over-seeding, and winter preparation.
• Work collaboratively with the grounds crew team to execute daily maintenance operations efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment storage and maintenance facilities.
