Golf Shop Assistant - Fall Season! (Oneida, WI)

Position Purpose: Assistgolf management in all aspects of the golf operation of Thornberry Creek at Oneida.

Essential Functions:

• Completes all transactions on the point of sale (POS) systemand handles all forms of payments in accordance with the cash handling procedures.
• Communicates verbally as well as in writing to customers on a daily basis to satisfy guestquestions to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Meet and greet guests as they arrive.
• Takes tee times via phone and in person throughout the day and keeps tee sheet up to date and accurate.
• Receive and record necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions for the Golf Course
• Help to facilitate:
  • Tee Sheet operation
  • Golf outing preparations
  • Golf league check ins
  • Calculation of league results
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Strong customer service skills and personality
• Basic knowledge of golf product use, functionality, and quality, as well as apparel
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes as relating to pricing.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to communicate with guests.
• Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions. Ability to operate a keyboard and Point of Sale procedures to handle cashier functions.
• Knowledge of the golf game and golf etiquette are necessary.

Education, Experience & License Requirements:

• Strong customer service skills and personality
• Knowledge and understanding of the rules of play and etiquette of golf is required.
• Basic knowledge of golf product use, functionality, and quality, as well as apparel
• No prior golf course experience is required but 1-2 years of previous golf course employment is preferred.
• Must be 18 years old and able to obtain a bartender’s licenses within 30 days of employment and maintain such licensure.
• A current valid driver's license is required.
