Backcountry is hiring a Seasonal Retail Gearhead (Sales Associate) for the holiday season. You will help customers find outdoor gear and provide product recommendations, contributing to a positive shopping experience at our Seattle-area store.

Ideal candidates have retail experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for outdoor activities. The role requires availability November through February and weekend/holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
• Previous retail sales experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Passion for outdoor activities and knowledge of outdoor gear.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with their purchases.
• Provide product information, advice, and recommendations to customers.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
• Manage inventory levels and restock merchandise.
• Participate in promotions and campaigns.
• Collaborate with marketing and buying teams to align product offerings with customer needs.
• Strive to improve customer satisfaction and exceed sales targets.
• Develop knowledge of products, industry trends, and competitors.
• Specialized knowledge in skiing, snowboarding, biking, climbing, or fly fishing is a plus.
