Job summary

Backcountry is seeking a dynamic Seasonal Retail Gearhead (Sales Associate) to join our retail team for the holiday season (November through February).

You will provide exceptional customer service, help customers find the right outdoor gear, and drive sales in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and evenings, with a passion for outdoor activities and knowledge of gear.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
• Retail sales experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings during the November–February season.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems.
• Passion for outdoor activities and knowledge of outdoor gear and apparel.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic SeasonalRetailGearhead (Sales Associate) to join our retail team for the holiday season (expected employment from November through February). The successful candidate willbe responsible forproviding exceptional customer service, generating sales, and helping customers find the right outdoor gear and apparel for their needs.

Holiday Availability:

Must be able to work two of the three major winter holidays (Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas, New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day).

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager

What You Bring to the Role:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred
• Previous retail sales experience preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings — especially during the November through February seasonal period
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems
• Passion for outdoor activities and knowledge of outdoor gear and apparel

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with associates and customers

• Ability to remain standing for up to 5 hours at a time

• Ability to move about the store coaching and directing associates; selling to customers and retrieving merchandise from stockroom or sales floor

• Ability to grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to retrieve and replenish merchandise from stockroom or sales floor

• Ability to lift and/or move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and/or move merchandise

• Ability to operate a computer, POS system, keyboards, merchandise scanners and mouse to accomplish work

• Must have a flexible schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Regular and predictable attendance

$17 - $17.50 an hour
