Job description

Join to apply for the Seasonal Garden Team Member role at Haymarket.

We have an immediate opening for a Seasonal Garden Team Member to join our dynamic team! This position will work from May to October and reports to the Agriculture Educator and Garden Manager.

Responsibilities & Duties:

1. Garden and greenhouse operations such as weeding, spraying, watering, operating equipment, stocking plants, pruning, and digging with hand tools.
2. Collaborate with the garden team and other enterprise teams to set up for events, clean the barn and greenhouse, and manage waste.
3. Assist customers with loading plants and containers, and share knowledge about plant care and placement.
4. Maintain inventory and sales records, and inform customers accordingly.
5. Operate garden and greenhouse machinery such as mowers, trimmers, pruners, shovels, rakes, Bobcat, and trucks.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in gardening, farming, or related fields is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to record and manage data accurately.
• Knowledge of organic and sustainable farming practices.
• Familiarity with farm machinery maintenance and safety procedures.
