Total Wine & More in Reston, Virginia, seeks a Cashier to provide fast, friendly service, process transactions, and promote loyalty programs. You may also serve as a sales associate or merchandiser as needed, reporting to store management.

The role emphasizes customer engagement, product knowledge, and adherence to alcohol-sale laws. The position is seasonal and may transition to non-seasonal; benefits include PTO, store discounts, health plans, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Passion for best-in-class customer service and team player mindset.
• 1-3 years of work experience, 1+ years of experience in a retail setting preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends.
• Physical requirements (with or without accommodations) must be 21 years of age or older.
• Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day.
• Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets.

Responsibilities

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including identification verification and payment handling.
• Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers and informing about products and services.
• Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
• Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
• Ensure adherence to laws related to sale of alcohol and maintain a safe store environment.
• Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
