Job summary

Acorn Engineering, Inc. in Maine is hiring for the upcoming Construction Season (May – August). The Class I Inspector is assigned to a single daily operation on MaineDOT projects and will support the Class III or Resident Inspector on the job.

There are opportunities throughout the state of Maine and they may require overtime, overnight and/or weekend work. This internship-style role emphasizes gaining hands-on field inspection experience through measurements, reporting, and basic testing.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions, to perform tasks independently and to produce neat and accurate reports
• Commitment to working with integrity and in an ethical manner
• Ability to maintain safe work practices in a fast-paced work environment
• Dependable and willing to work 10+ hours a day outdoors and on your feet
• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for daily transportation
• Anyone with an interest in construction (inclusive of all majors) are encouraged to apply
