Job summary

LJB Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector Intern to support Maine transportation projects across Central, Southern, Western, and Eastern regions.

This summer internship offers hands-on inspection experience on roadway paving, rehabilitation and reconstruction, with mentorship from seasoned professionals. Ideal candidates are college students in engineering or engineering technology, able to work over 40 hours per week, and willing to travel to job sites.

Qualifications

• Looking to gain construction inspection experience.
• Willing to work more than 40 hours per week.
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to follow directions from supervisor.
• Valid driver’s license; safe/reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Perform basic construction inspection, measurement and documentation of activities.
• Compute quantities and verify work against specifications; may conduct basic field testing.
• Communicate test results to supervisor and collect quantity tickets for paving projects.
• Travel to various Maine job sites; overtime and night/weekend work may be required.
