Job summary

West Virginia University’s Potomac State College farm team in Keyser is seeking a Temporary Farm Worker to assist with feeding cattle, field crop management, and farm operations. The position requires a High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related livestock or tractor experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of livestock/cattle production, tractor and equipment operation, or a combination of both.
• Equivalent combination of related education and/or experience considered.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide feeding, mixing and delivery of daily feed for PSC cattle; oversee student workers.
• Coordinate hay/silage cutting, baling, and storage for livestock feed with farm managers.
• Schedule feeding during weekends, holidays, summer, and extreme weather for livestock safety.
• Operate tractors and equipment; assist in maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Monitor and address equipment repairs; perform routine maintenance.
