AMR in Indianapolis is seeking a Special Events Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for seasonal, part-time events at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The EMT responds to emergent and non-emergent requests and delivers high-quality patient care, treatment, and customer service in the most expedient, professional, safe, caring, and cost-effective manner possible within the prescribed scope of practice and policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; strong listening and comprehension.]
• Ability to adapt quickly to evolving situations; strong decision making.

Responsabilités

• Follows and maintains familiarity with evolving medical protocols and SOPs.
• Operates ambulances per Risk & Safety policies and traffic laws.
• Locates addresses quickly using maps or navigation devices.
• Performs pre-shift ambulance checks and ensures equipment is on board.
• Reports issues to Supervisor regarding vehicle, equipment, or supply discrepancies.
• Maintains ambulance cleanliness, restocking, tagging, and fueling.
• Documents patient assessment, treatment, and billing information.
• Reads medication labels and administers treatments per protocol.
• Communicates with empathy to patients, families, and staff.
• Monitors patient condition and notifies Dispatch of status changes.
