Job summary

Bright Horizons in the San Mateo area is seeking a Seasonal Substitute Teacher to join an energetic team and support classroom coverage. As an on-call substitute, you’ll help with activities, monitor safety, and adapt to different age groups and centers.

This role requires in-person work in early education settings, with duties including communicating with families and maintaining classroom routines. Background checks and state requirements apply; CDA/degree candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Pass required state and company background checks.
• 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED is required.
• 12 ECE units completed; Infant/Toddler guidance if applicable.
• 1 year of child care experience is preferred.
• CDA, Associate, or bachelor’s in early education or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on activities to meet children’s needs and interests.
• Maintain open communication with parents about daily milestones.
• Ensure a safe, clean classroom by following procedures and guidelines.
• Provide seasonal support across centers and age groups as needed.
