Job summary

The Salvation Army in Frederick, MD is seeking a Seasonal Driver for the PMC-Frederick corps. This full-time seasonal role runs roughly from November 14, 2026 to December 24, 2026 and pays $17.00 per hour.

You will transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment, assist bell ringing teams, log mileage, and maintain the vehicle in safe condition while complying with traffic laws.

A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license are required.

Responsibilities

• Drive Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment to bell ringing locations.
• Picks-up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to warehouse.
• Picks-up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.
• Drives carefully and observes traffic signs and weather conditions to ensure passenger safety.
• Parks vehicle in a safe, clearly marked space.
• Locks vehicle doors when not in use.
• Fuels vehicle per state regulations and Salvation Army standards.
• Logs mileage on standard forms and ensures accuracy.

PAY RATE:

$17.00/hour

This position is responsible for:

Driving a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment to bell ringing locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides transportation for bell ringers to kettle sites and the Corps
• Picks-up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to warehouse.
• Picks-up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.
• Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
• Parks vehicle in a safe and clearly marked parking space.
• Locks vehicle doors when vehicle is not in use.
• Fuels vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.
• Logs all mileage onto standard forms; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.
• Arrives at destination according to schedule or telephone ahead when severe delays occur.
• Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Records time for kettle pickup.
• May give relief to Bell Ringers to take their 15-minute breaks by ringing the bell at a kettle site.
• Washes and cleans vehicle regularly.
• Performs other related work as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ANDWORKING CONDITIONS

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.
• Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long-distance trips or heavy traffic.
