Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time driver/delivery assistant in Milwaukee to support daily kettle pickup operations and donor logistics. You will load/unload donated and purchased items, ensure vehicle cleanliness, and perform safety checks while coordinating pickup times with leadership.

Qualified candidates will have a valid Wisconsin driver''s license with Salvation Army insurance clearance, good customer service skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Valid Wisconsin driver''s license with clearance to drive and Salvation Army insurance requirements.
• Ability to prepare basic written reports, logs and schedules.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to represent Salvation Army professionally.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload donated and purchased goods.
• Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of van.
• Complete daily vehicle safety check.
• Confirm pickup/delivery times as needed.
• Fuel the corps vehicle as needed.
• Christmas food/toy pickups and kettle collections daily.

Job Objective:

Ensure kettle workers are dropped off and picked up from their kettle locations daily as well having food items and various other donations and purchased products are picked up as directed.

Certifications:

Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with clearance to drive from Salvation Army insurance.

• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel.

Part-time employees with a regular work schedule of 20-29 hours per week are eligible for voluntary life benefits, prorated holiday pay and prorated paid time off.

Non-Exempt Employees: Health, dental, vision, and hearing benefits, as well as basic and voluntary life benefits, will begin on the first day of the month following 90 days of employment. If the completion of a 90-day waiting period occurs on the first day of the calendar month, coverage will begin on that day.
