Job summary

The Salvation Army in the United States West Virginia is seeking a part-time Transportation Aide to support bell ringing activities. Schedule: Temporary - part-time (up to 28 hours weekly)Number of Temporary Vacancies: 3This position is responsible for:Providing transportation for bell ringers to the kettle sites and the Corps. Picking up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to the warehouse. Picks up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.Key Responsibilities:Records time for kettle pickup.May give relief to Bell Ringers to take their 15-minute breaks by ringing the bell at a kettle site.Washes and cleans the vehicle regularly.Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.Parks the vehicle in a safe and clearly marked parking space.Locks the vehicle doors when the vehicle is not in use.Fuels the vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.Logs all mileage on standard forms; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.Arrives at destination according to schedule or telephones ahead when severe delays occur.Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomfort associated with changes in weather, such as rain, cold, snow, heat, or discomfort associated with long-distance trips or heavy traffic.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High School diploma or GED, and experience working in a retail store preferred, ORAny equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:Valid Driver's LicenseEqual Opportunity Employer: Veterans | Disabled
