The Salvation Army Annapolis Corps is seeking a dedicated Seasonal Driver to operate a Salvation Army vehicle, transporting passengers and equipment to bell ringing locations and other duties as assigned. The role requires a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED, and a couple of years of driving experience to ensure safety and reliability.

This full-time seasonal position involves driving in various traffic conditions, logging mileage, and assisting with bell ringers and angel

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience operating an automotive vehicle; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Valid State Driver's License.
• Medical Certificate

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers and Salvation Army equipment to bell ringing locations.
• Provide transportation for bell ringers to kettle sites.
• Picks up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to warehouse.
• Picks up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.
• Logs mileage on standard forms and ensures accuracy.
• Maintain vehicle safety, observe traffic laws, and ensure passenger safety.
• Perform vehicle cleaning and basic maintenance.

LOCATION: Annapolis, MD CorpsPOSITION: Seasonal DriverPOSITION TYPE: full-time, seasonal (may work 6 days weekly)PAY RANGE: $15.00 - $16.00 hourlyThis position is responsible for:Driving a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment to bell ringing locations.Key Responsibilities:Provides transportation for bell ringers to kettle sites and the CorpsPicks-up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to warehouse.Picks-up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.Parks vehicle in a safe and clearly marked parking space.Locks vehicle doors when vehicle is not in use.Fuels vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.Logs all mileage onto standard forms; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.Arrives at destination according to schedule or telephone ahead when severe delays occur.Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Records time for kettle pickup.May give relief to Bell Ringers to take their 15-minute breaks by ringing the bell at a kettle site.Washes and cleans vehicle regularly.Performs other related work as required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONSAbility to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long-distance trips or heavy traffic.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience operating an automotive vehicle; ORany equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:Valid State Driver's LicenseMedical CertificateEqual Opportunity Employer: Veterans | Disabled
