Job summary

Brunswick is seeking a Dockhand at Clemson Marina for a seasonal role combining outdoor work, teamwork, and hands-on experience on the water. Responsibilities include forklift operations to handle boats in dry storage, boat launch/retrieval, rental check-in/out, fueling, and general customer service throughout the marina.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with basic computer skills, a valid driver's license, and a proactive attitude. Training is provided; weekend and holiday hours may apply.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Familiarity with operating heavy equipment; training provided.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude and reliable attendance.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills.
• Ability to learn line handling and knot-tying basics.
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR; background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily opening and closing duties.
• Operate forklift to launch, retrieve, and stow boats from dry stack storage.
• Operate a tractor to transport boats.
• Check-in/check-out procedures for rental boats; provide safety instructions.
• Inspect and report condition of rental fleet; coordinate maintenance.
• Fuel boats at the full-service dock and follow procedures.
• Assist with general grounds maintenance and cleanliness.
• Provide exceptional customer service to marina visitors.
• Handle cashiering and end-of-day financial reporting.
• Assist with special events and loading/unloading deliveries.
• Support other departments as needed (sales, service, restaurant, or Freedom Boat Club).
